1. When and where does the Conference take place?
The Animal Law and Advocacy Conference will take place from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, 2026 in downtown Toronto at the Toronto Metropolitan University in the George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre at 245 Church St.
2. Who attends the Conference?
Guests typically include prominent lawyers, scholars, non-profit leaders, politicians, partners at leading law firms, law students, scientists, veterinary professionals, animal advocates, and members of the general public who are passionate about advancing animal law and protection.
The Conference will feature presentations on animal law, policy, and advocacy, including sessions on animal welfare, legal reform, and evolving strategies to advance animal protection.

4. Will there be plant-based food options available?
Yes! All food served at the conference will be plant-based and vegan, containing no meat, fish, dairy, eggs, or other animal products.

5. Will the Conference be streamed online?
All events will take place exclusively in person and will not be streamed online.
6. Is financial support available for needs-based access to the Conference?
Yes! Thanks to a generous supporter, a limited amount of funding is available to assist with needs-based access to the Conference.
Funding is awarded on a discretionary basis, taking into account financial need, geographic distance, and available funds. Priority may be given to applicants travelling from farther distances and those who would otherwise not be able to attend. Awards will vary depending on need and available funds.

7. Can you suggest any veg-friendly restaurants in Toronto?
Yes! You can find a list of restaurants, stores, and other businesses on Happy Cow. We also suggest checking out Foodism's list of vegan-friendly restaurants.

Reservations are encouraged in advance, as Toronto restaurants can be quite busy on weekends.
8. Do you need volunteer support at the Conference?
Yes! We'll have a registration table and an information table at the conference that will be volunteer run. For information about volunteer opportunities, please email Events Manager Sarah Janson at sjanson@animaljustice.ca.
