Dr. Jo Anderson

A leading social scientist in animal advocacy, Dr. Jo Anderson specializes in advocacy methods—from ballot initiatives to sanctuary tours—alternative proteins, and movement-building. Her work has been featured in global print media, podcasts, and conferences. Jo holds a PhD in social psychology and has authored over 75 publications. Currently, she wears multiple hats: Research and Strategy Consultant at Discoveries by Jo, Consumer & Customer Insights Consultant at Mission: Plant; board member at Secondhand Stories Chicken Sanctuary, and adjunct research professor at Carleton University. She is proud to have previously served as the Research Director at Faunalytics for more than seven years. Jo lives in Ottawa with her husband and two adopted cats, Pickles and Pepper. Her favourite pastimes are sewing, reading, and playing D&D.
