Peter Bo Zhang is a writer and researcher exploring human-animal relations through law, history, anthropology, and science and technology studies. He is a JD candidate at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where he received the course prize in Animal Law. Before law school, he studied at McGill University and Cambridge University. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Animal History, China’s Environmental History: A Reader (Columbia), and the International Handbook of Legal Language and Communication (Springer Nature). His advocacy experience includes work on industrial farming and wildlife tracking, as well as advising on outreach strategies for PETA. He is currently developing projects on non-human personhood, stray dogs, and the legal and historical making of more-than-human life.
