Stacy Lopresti-Goodman, Ph.D., is Director of the Animal Law Education and Scholarship Program at the Animal Legal Defense Fund, where she works with law schools, students, and faculty to expand animal law education and conducts research that advances animal protection.
She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Kutztown University and her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining ALDF, she was a tenured Full Professor of Psychology and academic administrator at Marymount University, where she taught courses on primate psychology, animal advocacy, and food ethics.
Her research focuses on the psychological and behavioral impacts of laboratory confinement on dogs and nonhuman primates. Stacy has published extensively, testified before lawmakers, and provided expert input for litigation and policy initiatives. Her work has been featured in national and international media outlets.
